Biography
Stefano Scarpellini was educated at the University of Pisa, where in 2022 he obtained a Master’s degree in Romance Philology with a thesis entitled Terramagnino da Pisa trattatista e poeta nel contesto della produzione provenzale e italiana del XIII secolo. Per un riesame critico della “Doctrina d’Acort” (supervisor Fabrizio Cigni, co-supervisor Speranza Cerullo). He dedicated himself to the study of the diffusion and re-elaboration of the provençal lyric tradition in Italy. In addition to that, during his work for the three-year dissertation he also approached the study of chivalric prose romances and in particular, the Roman de Tristan. Since 2024 he has been a PhD student at the Scuola Normale Superiore, within the program named “Filologia romanza e italiana digitale (FROID)”.
