The call for applications for admission to the doctoral program is published annually by the Scuola Normale on its official website.

Eligibility Requirements. To apply, candidates must:

• Not hold a doctoral degree awarded by an Italian or foreign university at the time the program begins, nor have previously received a scholarship for a doctoral program in Italy.
• Hold an Italian laurea magistrale degree or an equivalent foreign qualification, obtained no more than five years prior to the application deadline.
• Expect to obtain the required degree by October 31. If successful in the selection process, failure to obtain the degree by this date will result in the revocation of admission.
